For example, let's say a teenager named Chris was deciding whether or not dropping out of high school and finding a job would be wise. As Chris thought about it, he noticed a billboard that read "Percent of US jobs a high school dropout is not eligible for: 90%." After taking this statistic into consideration, Chris probably decided the latter and finished high school. Had not someone took the time to gather the information necessary to create such a statistic and publicize it, Chris would have had a hard time living happily ever after.
