Area Diagram

Give a real-world application in which an area diagram can be used? Please be specific

  1. you can use area diagrams for trying to find out how many accidents someone has been in, how many females or males have this type of car or have certain things in common. im not too fond of the area diagrams but it can be used for many things.

By us using something called a area diagram it could help us solve quite a few things. For instance things like boys that play football, boys who play basketball, and also the amount that was cut. To me its not that bad of a standard.

  6. An Area Model can be used for several different things. We are currently using an area model in your class with the election. A parking lot is also an Area Model. Area Model's are every where and make thing a lot easier to understand and read. ( Ayana Mills 3rd Period)

  7. an area model can be use in different things. For example using it by how many male and female play sports. An area model is understandable and clear to read.

  8. An area model is used in many different ways. LIke if u were to use for a cetain type of shoe and men and women which one liked it, or sports. And it's a good easy way to understand things better.

  9. Area models can be used for many different reasons or situations. Mainly we use them to figure out comparisons and contrast of certain things. you can also use area models on the outcome of a maze.

  10. I think you can use area diagrams for the amount of pathways you can travel easier to your destination. When you are always going the long way, you tend to get tired of it. The diagram will describe what path is easier to take if it is long or short. It can also tell you about how many shortcuts it has. It also tells you how many miles it is.

  12. A real world example in which the area diagram can be used is similar to the test/project we've completed because it easily helps you compare and contrast different topics

area models are models used to show an overlap of two or more topics. this area diagram that we are doing in class as a project is a way for us to understand the probability easier. homework assignments also show different ways to represent data on an area diagram

You can use an area diagram for a number of real-world applications. Such as demographics, people sexual orientation, and the subjects that students like. Demographics cross when people obtain two or more races. Sexual orientation cross over when you like boys and girls. And students may enjoy one or more subjects. You can use an area diagram for the same topics as you would use for a tree diagram or Venn diagram.

    ReplyDelete
  16. You can use an Area Model for differnt things. For instance you can use it to overlap 2 races. To tell if someone is black, white, or mixed between the two. That is what you can use an area model for.

An area diagram can be used for different things.you can use area models on the outcome of a maze.it can also be used for football, baseball and all sports .

  18. An area model can be used for a variety of things. The topics that may be used could be school, fashion, sports, food, etc. For example for school, you could use an area diagram for the classes students prefer the most. For fashion you could use the clothes a group of people like to wear most or the mall most people prefer to shop at. For sports you could use an area diagram for the teams (Thunder, Braves, or Falcons) or different organizations (NBA, NFL, or NHL) students/adults prefer the most. And for food, and area diagram could be used to determine what food or snacks people prefer to eat throughout the week.

  19. You can use a area diagram for many things. For example, you can use a area diagram to find out how many people have got into a car crash in the last year or to compare and contrast a situation like how many women or males got into the accident. Area diagrams are basically used to show outcomes faster. I'm not to big on area diagrams so I'm not for certain. But, that's a real life situation I could think of to use a area diagram.

  20. You can use an area diagram for several situations. An area diagram is for organizing a group of information into a organized tree diagram or venn diagram that creates overlapping and probabilities. For example, you can use a area diagram to separate the options of choices to create a variety of sandwich choices. The sandwich can be make of white, wheat, and thin with ham, turkey, or meat and mustard, ketchup and olive oil.

  21. you may use a area diagram for several things that exist in real life. An area diagram is used to compare things that have differences or same thing, a real life situation can be used for the election base on what people rather vote for obama or rommeny for welfare policy or education or the economy. It may be divided up on whose for what and whose not for base on percentage wise etc.

  22. - An area model is very similar to a venn diagram. Today, a real life situation, comparing and contrasting storms/hurricanes that happened in the U.S. that did or did not damage major cities like New York and New Orleans etc.

  23. A area diagram can be used to show many real life applications. Some of these applications are how many people have had a accidents, and who would more than likely win the election! A area diagram show you a clear percent and area. You can break the two down by how many females and males had crashes. Then you would chose one to shade in males or females.!

  24. Area models, as well as Tree Diagrams and Venn Diagrams, are used to show comparisons, how they tend to overlap, and the probability of data. An area model could be used showing how many high school students dress down in designer on a day to day, versus how many students wear presentable but non-designer clothing. The overlap would contain people that like to mix it up. Looking at the area model, one would be able to see all the information in a neat and easily understandable way. Without mathematical models data would just be scattered and difficult to obtain or comprehend. (Raven Burford 5thpd)

  25. An area diagram can be used for many different situations. Such as what we did in class with the horses and the different colors that a horse can turn out to be. Another is to see the probability or the chances of a woman having a boy and the chances of her having a girl. Also, deciding what clothes you want to wear. If you want to wear a blue shirt, with jeans and sneakers - etc.

(Gary Ingram 2nd period)you can use an area diaggram in many situations like finding out a toy to give to your child. you can compare both to show how they are alike and what not. And you can compare the price ranges and subtract the differences of both of them & get a solution....like which toys cost more with or without a discount card...

You could use an area model to show how many people like crunchy peanut butter verses creamy peanut butter and how many people like both on a peanut butter and jelly sandmich. You could survey one hundred people and ask the question "What kind of peanut butter do you use, if any, on your peanut butter and jelly sandwiches?" Once you have your data, you could show your probably by shading your percentage of people who likes crunchy peanut butter in one color, the percentage of people who likes creamy peanut butter in another color, and who like both in a pattern. You should have some type of over lap between the two and shown in the diagram. Whatever you have left that's not shaded could represent the percentage of people who doesn't like peanut butter, doesn't use it, or is allergic to it.

  28. An Area Diagram can be used for a variety of things. A real world example may be Music. Majority of African Americans may listen to R&B or Hip Hop and Caucasians may listen to Bob, Rock, or even Jazz. But then again it can be mutual between both Cultures.

  29. An Area diagram can be used to determine the amount of people in an overlap for a venn diagram for example. An area diagram can show the probability of of boys that watch cartoons, girls watch cartoons, and people in both groups that watch none. It shows the overlap between each group. It also shows the probability of each possible outcome that can occur within each area.

An Area Diagram can be used for different things. You can use the Diagram to find out how many people like pizza with differnt toppings. Someone may like mushrooms, peppers, sausage. etc. Then they may like hard crust or soft crust maybe thin or thick. Then to break down the differnt types or percentages you would use an area model. Also to know that your doing your data right it should equal up to an total amount that was given and you should have some type of overlap in the diagram. It could be questions or topics. JASMINE MARSHALL 2ND PERIOD

Real ninja trent You can use a area diagram by choosing the hardest ninjas that can fight me. The overlapping would be for the one ninja who wins against everyone else and will fight the last battle against me. Of course if i lay my finger on him then he will explode in space.

An are diagram can be used in real life in one wished to brake a cake apart based on it's ingredients an the area that they came from. This would be possible because many cakes are made up of different spices and seasonings that are found all over the world. Another way an area map could be used while baking a cake is through the steps. Baking a cake comes with many steps, and each step takes place in different area of the kitchen.

  33. In elementary we use a area model by playing the game finding purple. Its a popular game at school. it is a spinner game called
Making Purple. To play the game, a player spins the pointer of each spinner
below once. Suppose a player gets red on one spinner and blue on the other
spinner. The player wins, because red and blue together make purple. The reason why i said this game is an area model is because you Use an area model to determine the theoretical probability that a
player will make purple on a turn.

You can use a area diagram to find out how many people are allergic to a particular food. The most common type of foods that people are allergic to are peanuts, sea food, fruits, and dairy products. You could go to a allergy camp and survey how many people are allergic to each kinds of foods. If they say other then they would go on the outside.
